Options from the full program

These options are not included in the 14 days above. Extra excursions need additional days or an agreed substitution and a revised price. Accommodation and meals remain self-booked.

Seven Lakes of Tajikistan — extra day from Samarkand

Travel via Jartepa and Penjikent to the Shing Valley with a local Tajik guide and driver after the border crossing. The source program visits six of the Seven Lakes; reaching the seventh needs a separately agreed walk and suitable conditions. This is a long cross-border day. Confirm entry and re-entry requirements for your nationality and allow for border delays before adding it.

Bukhara to Khiva via desert fortresses — transfer upgrade

Replace the direct road transfer with a full-day route past Ayaz Kala, Akchakul, Toprak Kala and Kyzyl Kala. Allow approximately 11–12 hours with stops. Meals and entrance fees are separate; the visit order is agreed before departure.

Muynak ship cemetery — 2 days / 1 night from Khiva

Day 1: travel via Nukus, visit the Savitsky Museum and continue to Muynak. Day 2: explore the ship cemetery and Muynak Museum, then return via Nukus to Khiva. Book your Muynak guesthouse and all meals independently. Add the two excursion days before your departure transfer.

Aral Sea and Ustyurt Plateau — 2 days / 1 night from Khiva

Day 1: travel via Chilpik Kala, Nukus and Muynak toward the Ustyurt Plateau, canyons and Aral Sea area. Day 2: return via Kurgancha Kala, the Muynak ship cemetery and Mizdakhan to Khiva. This demanding route requires suitable off-road vehicles, an agreed schedule and independently booked camp accommodation. Meals are separate. Add two days and avoid an onward flight on the return evening.

Good to know

Train times and visit opening hours are checked when confirming your program. Departure times are confirmed for your travel dates. Arrival and departure days count toward the itinerary length; shorter programs combine selected visits and transfers.

Guides are provided for the listed guided visits, rather than throughout every transfer or free period. Tell us your preferred guide language, walking pace and accessibility needs. Longer programs include extended road journeys.
